Join us in this second session of a four-part webinar series on the WHO-UNICEF Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) assessment tool and how it can support the successful implementation of a national immunization continuous improvement plan (cIP).
EVM is a global initiative to increase immunization coverage through the continuous improvement of vaccine supply chains, ensuring potent, life-saving vaccines are available to vaccinate populations through the life course when and where they’re needed. EVM was launched in 2009. Drawing on lessons learnt conducting EVM assessments in more than 80 countries, and by leveraging developments in mobile and cloud-based computing, EVM2 was released in 2019. The new tool builds upon the original to provide countries with a broader, more powerful, more agile and more sustainable solution for improving immunization supply chain systems. For more information on EVM, visit the EVM website.

This 1.5 hrs. webinar on structural gender barriers to immunization is the second in a series of three sessions. The first webinar on 2 June covered societal gender barriers to accessing and using immunization services, while this session will cover barriers that relate to the health system and particularly to the health workforce. This second webinar will also cover the effectiveness of gender responsive, and gender transformative strategies related to immunization, and how to measure and monitor gender-related barriers in public health.
Following this webinar series, participants will have a better understanding of the importance of addressing gender inequity as part of health systems strengthening, through efforts at community level as well as in each tier of the health system. Participants will learn the basics of conducting a gender analysis within broader coverage and equity assessments (CEA), and they will be encouraged to develop individual action plans for ensuring a gender lens in their own work.
